Those dam Zerg Clan

A unit that does normal damage will deal 100% of its maximum no matter who it is attacking, an example being the trusty zergling. It deals 5 damage per hit, regardless of its target.

A unit that deals explosive damage will inflict 100% of its maximum only on large units such as the Ultralisk. It does 75% of its maximum to medium sized units like the Queen, and only 50% to small units like a zergling. Hydralisks and the two colonies (Spore and Sunken) are the Zerg units that inflict explosive damage.

Concussive damage is almost the opposite of explosive as it deals maximally to small units, 50% to medium, and 25% to large. Only terrans possess units capable of doing concussive damage, and they are the Firebat, Vulture, and Ghost.

Splash damage causes damage to the units surrounding the intended target as well as the target itself. Full damage is dealt to the target, 50% to any adjacent units, and 25% to any units 2 squares away (a square being the size of a small unit like the zergling). Also, it is important to note that splash damage can kill your own units as well as the enemy's, with the exception of Lurkers Firebats, Archons, and Reavers whose splash damage will not injure friendly units (In a multi-player game I believe it will kill your ally's units however).

It is important to note that the Protoss shields take full damage no matter what attack type a unit is using. Be it concussive, explosive, or normal the shields just eat it up. Good, I hate those shields.
